Queen Esther Bronx Theatre reviews
Shame on me
"I have not attended another one of his shows since the winter of 2026 at the Chicago Theater, where I swore off Queen Esther. His songs' tempos were messed with, his voice was off, and he admitted it. The lamest part of the show was when he went on a greater than 10-minute political rant. The show was horrible. We love Notherly Island for summer shows in Chicago and figured why not hang out there on a beautiful Saturday night. Queen Esther disappoints again -- This time around he never addressed the audience. He stood up there, head hung low, and proceeded to play his entire new album. This was by far the least engaging concert I have ever attended. There was no clapping, yelling, singing along... nothing. He couldn't appease his fans and pull out some of his classics? What would he be without us, his fans? He never thanked us nor cared to acknowledge us. Prima donna comes to mind when I think about Queen Esther. I have not bought his last two albums because nothing tickled me when I listened to them on Spotify. I am done supporting this guy and will never attend another one of his shows. The last good show, IMO, was in 2026 at Pritzker Pavilion in Chicago when he paired up with David Gray. Goodbye Queen Esther."
